Jack Rose: Tour w/Michael Chapman, more
hey dudes, ....I have an exciting tour coming up in October with the legendary Michael Chapman. Michael is probably best known for his classic records he released on the harvest label in the early 70's. He hasn't stopped playing/touring and is still one hell of a guitarist and singer. His last tour of the states was in in the winter of 2005 and he's not to be missed. tour runs Oct. 9th through the 19th.
Thursday 9th NYC, NY Knitting Factory
Friday 10th Upper Jay, NY @The Recovery Lounge, Upper Jay Art Center http://upperjayartcenter.com/
Saturday 11th Portland, ME The Time of Rivers Festival
Sunday 12th New Haven, CT BAR
Monday 13th tba
Wednesday 15th Philadelphia, PA TBA
Thursday 16th Pittsburgh, PA Garfield Arts
Friday 17th Ithaca, NY Lost Dog Café
Saturday 18th Montague, MA Montague Bookmill
Sunday 19th Rochester, NY Bug Jar
For this tour I'll have lots of vinyl goodies on sale. "Dr Ragtime and Pals" will be out officially and will be pressed in an edition of 1000 on Tequila Sunrise. It will have 3 less tracks than the test pressing and cd version. Those tracks will be re-recorded later for another release that has yet to be determined. "I do play rock and roll" will be available as well in an edition of 1000 on 180 g wax and deluxx cover on the 3lobed label. I'll have a few copies of the "Kensington Blues" repress (30 copies or so) and the last 5 copies of the twigs/jr 7". Keep your eyes peeled for the Jack Rose/Black Twigs EP 12" that will hopefully be out later this year on Klang Industries. The master and art will be sent out in a couple of weeks.
Right now I'm currently booking for a European tour in late Nov/Dec. If anyone has an interest in booking, please get in touch with Regina Greene at Front Porch Productions at rontporchproductionsrg AT gmail.com .
I also have a local Philly gig opening for the boogie master, Tetuzi Akiyama at Bowerbird, the Powel house on sept 16th. He'll be playing an acoustic set for this gig. Should be a nice one.
Hope everyone has had a nice summer and hope to see you soon.
best, Jack
