Black Twig Pickers: Thanks, Charlie!

Woo-eee, as the saying goes, such a weekend. Thanks to Charlie Parr for an astounding run during the 4-shows-in-24-hours marathon with the Black Twigs. As near as we could figure around last call Saturday, Charlie had repeated only one song in his solo sets, and a couple others while sitting in with the Twigs. The Black Twigs had a few more repeats, but dug into the back closet for a bunch of tunes that hadn't been unearthed in quite awhile. A few brand new ones were played as well. The highlight of the weekend? Probably the Parr-plus-Twigs take on "Bye and Bye I'm Going to See the King" that closed the final set at the run's last show. Charlie's out for another week or more of dates outside his usual stomping grounds, which are up near the Arctic Circle.
